Complete English translation of the first edition published by Zetter, Paris, ca. 1824. Music reproduced in facsimile. The definitive publication for the serious horn player. Edited by Viola Roth.

Originally published in three volumes, this edition presents all three in one beautiful book, with the editor's new Introduction, Index, and three new Appendices. The 482 pages include two fold-out charts that thoroughly explore the complete capabilities of all twelve crooks, essential information for both the performer and composer. Dauprat was fluent in the practical, technical, artistic, and theoretical aspects of his art as a virtuoso performer, composer, and professor of horn at the Paris Conservatoire. His Méthode collects a lifetime of knowledge, and is his magnum opus.

The paper is 60-lb acid-free Permalife Text, and the book is published in the original size (10 1/2" x 13 1/2"). The edition is limited to 1,025 copies, one thousand of which have been Smyth sewn, bound in Japanese cloth, and numbered, while the remaining 25 lettered copies are reserved to be sewn and bound completely by hand.
