Franz Danzi (1763-1826)
Sonata in E Minor, op.44
Danzi was a cellist and composer, best known for his operas and his orchestral conducting. He had a very successful career, working primarily in Germany, and his students include Carl Maria von Weber, whose operas Danzi was among the first to present.

Ferdinand Hérold (1791-1833)
Duo for Piano and Horn
This work, composed in December of 1810, was one of Hérold’s few compositions not intended for the stage. He was a well-known French pianist, composer and teacher, but became famous for his operas, many of which were quite successfully staged in Paris.

Nikolaus de Krufft (1779-1818)
Sonate pour le Pianoforte avec Accompagnement de Cor (1812)
The Viennese pianist Nicholas de Krufft first published this lovely work in 1812. We have reprinted the 1836 edition, which made no changes in notes but is easier to read. This is the only edition available in the original key of E Major.

Charles Zeuner (1795-1857)
Variations pour le Cor
(arr. for horn and piano by J. Snedeker)
Zeuner was a German organist who settled in the Boston area around 1830, and composed many sacred choral pieces as well as works for a variety of instruments. Variations pour le Cor was written for horn and orchestra, and the manuscript was recently discovered by Mr. Sam Dennison at the University of Pennsylvania Van Pelt Library Special Collections. Includes informative Preface by the editor.
